Jury and Trial Consultant/Attorney Robert B. Hirschhorn

Robert Hirschhorn of Cathy E. Bennett & Associates, Inc., is an attorney and a nationally recognized expert in jury and trial consultation. A jury consultant since 1985, Robert has selected juries that have returned tens of billions of dollars in verdicts. Jury verdicts since 2018 include:

Robert has also assisted lawyers in several high-profile criminal cases including State of Florida v. William Kennedy Smith (sexual assault charges, not guilty verdict), State of Texas v. U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (ethics charges, not-guilty verdict), and State of Texas v. Robert Durst (acquitted of murder charges), United States v. Robert Kaluza (Client was charged with various crimes related to the explosion and worst oil spill in the history of the United States - the jury acquitted him of all charges), and United States v. Forkner (federal jury acquitted the client of all charges related to the crashes of two separate Boeing 737 Max aircraft). Robert has also authored four books and several articles for Law360, Texas Lawyer, and AAJ. He has appeared on Good Morning America, MSNBC, Court TV, CNN, HLN, Dateline NBC, 48 Hours, Nightline, and many national radio programs. He lectures nationwide to lawyers and judges on the art of jury selection.

Jury and Trial Consultant Jennifer Lapinski

Jennifer Lapinski has been a jury and trial consultant since 1999 and has worked closely with attorneys on hundreds of civil and criminal cases in both state and federal jurisdictions across the country. Some of her notable cases include a single-plaintiff personal injury case against a major railroad where the jury returned a $557 Million verdict ($57 Million compensatory, $500 Million exemplary); one of the first hip implant bellwether trials where the jury returned a $247 Million verdict for Plaintiffs; a landmark New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act case regarding conversion therapy where the jury returned a complete Plaintiffs verdict; and, a murder case in which the deceased was a law enforcement officer, the Defendant asserted self-defense and defense of another, and the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty. Jennifer has spoken at numerous CLE programs and written about jury selection and conducting focus groups, most notably appearing on KERA's Think as a contributing author to the AAJ Trial Guides' The Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit (Fourth Edition), and as author of Thinking Outside the Box Inside the Courtroom: Voir Dire. Jennifer has also had the privilege of being the Program Chair for The Center for American and Internal Law's Jury Selection & Communicating with Jurors since 2013.

Junior Jury and Trial Consultant Madison Fritz

Madison Fritz is a junior jury and trial consultant at Cathy E. Bennett & Associates and has been with the company since 2023. She prepares for and facilitates all of our focus groups and mock trials, as well as assists attorneys with the jury selection process. Madison graduated from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2022 with her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. She also ran track and field for the University of Nebraska for three years. Upon graduation, Madison relocated to Texas to work with victims of human trafficking and their families, but ultimately decided to switch fields to learn more about jury and trial consulting.

Junior Jury and Trial Consultant Sabreena De La Cruz

Sabreena De La Cruz is a junior jury and trial consultant at Cathy E. Bennett & Associates. She prepares for and facilitates all of our focus groups and mock trials, as well as assists attorneys with the jury selection process. Sabreena graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with honors in 2023, receiving her Bachelor's degree in Government and a certificate in Applied Statistical Modeling. Sabreena also completed her Paralegal certificate program at the University of Texas at Austin. Sabreena joined the company in May of 2024 and is looking forward to spending more time with attorneys in the courtroom.

Jury Consultant Emily Novak

Emily Novak is a jury consultant and has worked with many attorneys on many cases across the country, both civil and criminal. Emily assists in preparing for focus groups and mock trials, and prepares juror questionnaires and voir dire questions for attorneys. Additionally, Emily handles all new client/business inquiries that we receive. Emily received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Texas A&M University, after which she received her Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas. Right after finishing her Master's degree, Emily started with Cathy E. Bennett & Associates in June of 2021.

Office Manager / Billing Manager Tyler Gray

Tyler Gray is the office manager at Cathy E. Bennett & Associates and does a little bit of everything for the company, from accounting to human resources and everything in between. Tyler attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in History and shortly after relocated to Duluth, Minnesota. After a few years, Tyler moved back to Texas and has been here ever since. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys traveling, hiking, seeing live music, and watching his favorite basketball team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Project Planner & Travel Coordinator Julie Cavazos

Julie Cavazos started with Cathy E. Bennett & Associates in May of 2023 and is responsible for all of the planning that goes behind our research projects and also coordinates all travel involved in our business. Julie has worked in the Hospitality/Meeting Planning industry for nearly 20 years. She has a passion for hospitality and creating meaningful experiences for her clients. While originally from the Midwest, Julie has lived in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Utah, Florida, Kansas, South Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Colorado. She now resides in Argyle, Texas with her daughter and her dog, Belle. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and is always on the lookout for new wines to try.

Jury Research Associate / Marketing & Screening Associate Carly Haynes

Carly Haynes joined Cathy E. Bennett & Associates in December of 2023 and serves as a Jury Research Associate, specializing in marketing, social media management, and participant recruitment. Alongside Jessica, Carly is often the first point of contact for potential focus group and mock trial participants, ensuring that our panels reflect the diversity and demographics of real jury pools in each county where we conduct research. Carly brings a decade of experience in advertising, social media, graphic design, & multimedia editing. Currently completing her Bachelor of Arts in Music Business at Berklee College of Music, she has developed a strong foundation in entertainment law, copyright law, the entertainment industry, and strategic communication. Carly's passion for human behavior and creative problem-solving fuels her work at Cathy E. Bennett & Associates. Outside of the office, she is a talented musician who performs nationwide with her twin sister as part of their band.

Jury Research Associate / Screening Associate Jessica House

Jessica House has been with Cathy E. Bennett & Associates since May of 2024, and is responsible for recruiting our participants. She also occasionally helps with facilitating our focus groups and mock trials. Jessica is one of our first points of contact for our potential focus group/mock trial participants and ensures that our participants mirror a real jury pool in each county where we conduct our research projects. Jessica received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Texas Wesleyan University and received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Boston University. Jessica's background in victim advocacy and crisis services, but has since decided to transfer her skills to the field of jury research. Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, her two beautiful kids, and her dog.

Marketing Associate / Research Facilitator Michael Epstein

Mike Epstein has been with Cathy E. Bennett & Associates since 2006, originally hired to build marketing campaigns for the company as well as securing ads for our mock trial and focus group participants. That role has evolved, modernizing our evaluation techniques with the introduction of real time data collection responder units used for focus groups and mock trials, as well as expanding our digital footprint with website and social media platforms. Mike also frequently assists at our focus groups and mock trials; often the first CEB associate participants interact with upon their arrival. His organizational and communication skills, combined with a friendly demeaner with our mock trial and focus group jurors ensure smooth facilitation for timely presentations, data collection and evaluation. He also conducts a thorough post-verdict debriefing, which provides additional insight into participants' views and opinions with regard to the case they just deliberated on. Mike is a proud father of two adult daughters, an avid fisherman and skier as well as a graduate of Syracuse University.
